AFT events and scoring
The Army Fitness Test replaced the ACFT on 1 June 2025 and has five events: 3-repetition maximum deadlift, hand-release push-up, sprint-drag-carry, plank and 2-mile run. Each is scored 0–100 from tables split into ten age bands (17–21 up to 62+) and by sex. This calculator uses the Army Fitness Test Score Tables approved on 15 May 2025. Results between two published rows count at the lower row, so 237 lb on a 230/240 table earns the 230 lb score.
General vs combat standard
Most soldiers need at least 60 points in every event and 300 in total. Soldiers in combat specialties are held to a sex-neutral standard: everyone is scored on the male/combat column and must reach 60 per event and 350 overall. Check your unit’s guidance for your MOS and component, since the combat standard was phased in on different dates for the Regular Army and the Reserve components.
Training to the standard
Deadlift and push-ups reward a simple strength program with two or three heavy sessions a week; the plank improves quickly with frequent practice; the 2-mile run benefits most from one interval and one long easy run per week. Use the calculator to see which event gives the most points per second or rep and focus your training there.
